A premium and profoundly structured Italian red wine sourced from the illustrious Perno vineyard in Monforte d'Alba, harvested from the legendary 2016 vintage. The palate exhibits remarkable intensity and refinement, unfolding with rich layers of dark cherry, wild plum, and crushed raspberry, beautifully integrated with notes of licorice, tar, leather, and complex balsamic herbs. It possesses a full-bodied, multi-dimensional texture backed by the firm, tight-knit tannins and vibrant acidity characteristic of this prestigious cru. The finish is exceptionally long, elegant, and persistent.
Food Pairing: Pairs well with braised beef, roasted wild game, rich truffle dishes, and mature hard cheeses.
95 Points - James Suckling
A delicate, very balsamic wine, showing mint, licorice, eucalyptus and dried cherries. Full-bodied, it shines with crisp acidity, velvety condensed tannins, bergamot flavors and warming yet balanced alcohol. Youthful and structured. Drink or hold.
91 Points - Wine Enthusiast
Red-berry, truffle and crushed mint aromas follow through to the full-bodied palate along with tobacco notes. Tightly wound, grainy tannins lead to a firm drying finish. Drink after 2026.
