Giffard Framboise is the quintessential French raspberry liqueur from the storied Giffard family, distillers since 1885 in the Loire Valley town of Angers. This timeless classic is created by macerating fresh Willamette raspberries—plucked from the vine and valued for their naturally low sugar content and bright, tangy character—in neutral spirit distilled from sugar beets. The result is a vibrant, naturally fruity liqueur with remarkable clarity and intensity, capturing the essence of summer berries in every sip. Bottled at 16% ABV and featuring a deep red color with orange and amber hues, this is a liqueur of distinction that honors centuries of French liqueur-making tradition.
The nose opens with an inviting aroma of fresh raspberries, complemented by hints of spice and powerful notes of other red fruits including blackcurrant and gooseberry. The palate is vibrant and lively, delivering intense raspberry flavor with subtle blackberry and blackcurrant notes, finished with a delightful peppery side and long, aromatic finish that lingers beautifully. The natural tartness of the raspberries creates remarkable balance—neither cloying nor thin, it remains versatile enough for both spirited occasions and culinary applications.
Perfect served neat and chilled as a dessert cordial, mixed with dry white wine or Champagne for a classic Kir or Kir Royale, blended into sophisticated cocktails like the Clover Club or Raspberry Mojito, or drizzled over ice cream, fruit, or chocolate desserts. This is the liqueur that defines quality—a testament to the Giffard family's four-generation commitment to creating exceptional fruit spirits using only the finest ingredients and time-tested methods. Gluten-free, vegan, and completely free of preservatives, Giffard Framboise remains an essential addition to any discerning home bar or kitchen.
