This red wine originates from Georgia, specifically from the Kakheti region within the Alazani Valley. Established in 1962, the producer JSC Tbilvino was once a primary factory for the Soviet winemaking industry before emerging as an independent, award winning company in the late 1990s with a philosophy focused on modernizing ancient recipes. The Alazani Valley itself is one of Georgia's most famous names, named after the river that forms the border with Azerbaijan, where a warmer climate allows grapes to reach a delectable natural sweetness.

Georgian Valleys Alazani Valley Red displays a shimmering ruby colour with garnet tones. The nose is aromatic and tender, offering scents of red berries, forest fruits, and ripe plums layered with hints of blossoms and earthy fig chutney. On the palate, the wine is medium bodied and smooth, featuring a refined balance between its natural semi sweet fruitiness and a vibrant acidity. It is characterized by a lively character with dominant tones of raspberry and blackberry, followed by a gentle finish with a splash of citrus. This wine is a blend of approximately 70% Saperavi and 30% Rkatsiteli grapes, which are fermented in temperature controlled tanks until the desired residual sweetness of roughly 38 g/L is reached. The ABV is typically 11.5%. While the winery emphasizes high quality standards, this specific bottling is not certified organic. The optimal drinking window is from release through 2026.
