A luxurious interpretation of classic French crème de banane, G.E. Massenez Creme de Banane delivers ripe tropical fruit character with a lush, velvety sweetness and elegant layers of banana and vanilla. Exceptionally versatile, it shines both in refined dessert cocktails and as an indulgent spoon-pour at the end of a meal.
Origins & Craftsmanship
From Distillerie G.E. Massenez, one of France’s historic and highly respected liqueur houses founded in Alsace in 1870, this crème de banane is crafted with attention to purity and aromatic intensity that reflects the house’s longstanding mastery of fruit liqueurs and crèmes. The base spirit is a neutral grape spirit, into which natural banana flavors are integrated to create a rich and concentrated profile. The designation “Crème” denotes a heightened sugar content that amplifies the fruit’s sweetness and lends the liqueur its characteristic body and silken texture. The liqueur is carefully balanced to capture the essence of sun-ripened banana with supporting vanilla and subtle spice notes, resulting in a refined yet exuberant expression of banana without cloying heaviness.
Tasting Profile
Nose: Aromas of ripe banana and soft vanilla custard with hints of subtle spice and tropical fruit sweetness, presenting an inviting and dessert-like bouquet.
Palate: Silky and smooth with a concentrated ripe banana flavor underscored by creamy vanilla and a whisper of sweet baking spice. The sweetness is rich but balanced, offering depth without overwhelming the palate.
Finish: Long and plush, with lingering notes of caramelized banana and vanilla bean that taper to a gentle, memorable sweetness.
