The winery, Poderi Gianni Gagliardo, has roots dating back to 1847 with the Colla family cultivating vineyards in Piedmont. Gianni Gagliardo established the winery in its current form in 1973. Now run by the sixth generation—Gianni’s sons Stefano, Alberto, and Paolo—the winery focuses on an artisanal approach with great attention to detail and respect for the environment. Their philosophy is to allow each vineyard to express the 'purest character' of the Nebbiolo grape, creating elegant and balanced wines.
Wine Description
It offers a sensory profile with aromatic red cherry and savoury aromas, accompanied by the typical notes of rose, tar, and hazelnut. Some vintages also show hints of oregano and liquorice. It is medium-bodied with firm, yet delicate tannins and bright acidity, leading to a velvety, smooth, and savoury, chalky finish with a persistent aftertaste.
