Frescobaldi Nipozzano Chianti Rufina Riserva 2023 is an elegant Tuscan red wine from the historic Castello Nipozzano estate in Italy’s Chianti Rufina region. Crafted primarily from Sangiovese grapes, this wine offers inviting aromas of ripe cherries, red berries, violets, and delicate spice. On the palate, vibrant acidity and refined tannins complement flavors of juicy red fruit, subtle oak, and earthy undertones. With its balanced structure and lingering finish, this classic Italian red pairs beautifully with roasted meats, hearty pasta dishes, and aged cheeses.

Critic Ratings

James Suckling Review - Rated 92:

Intense and multi-layered wine with dark and profound character, vermouth-like spicy complexity, cinchona, bark and dark cherries. Medium-bodied, firm and velvety with clove flavors, chewy acidity and tight-knit depth. Youthful and chewy yet balanced. Drink or hold.

Wine Spectator Review - Rated 90:

Tasting more like Cabernet or Merlot, this red offers black currant, blackberry, iron and wild herb aromas and flavors that are dark and penetrating. Balanced and long, with fine-grained tannins. I like this, even if it’s atypical. Best from 2028 through 2040. 83,333 cases made, 15,000 cases imported.
