This pear-infused liqueur from the house of François Peyrot offers a captivating blend of juicy Williams-pear sweetness and refined Cognac base—the result is both generous in fruit and polished in execution. Ideal for sipping on its own or elevating dessert and cocktail moments.
Origins & Craftsmanship
Produced in the Cognac region (Grande Champagne, 1er Cru) of France, this liqueur begins with eaux-de-vie from the Peyrot estate. These are then artfully blended with distillate or maceration of ripe Williams pears harvested at peak maturity. The final liquid is aged for approximately two years in white-oak barrels, integrating the pear character with the Cognac’s smooth, mellow wood influence. The alcohol strength is 30% ABV.
Tasting Profile
-
Nose: Bright and fragrant with immediate aromas of fresh Williams pear, subtle vanilla and a soft honeyed edge. A delicate whisper of oak and Cognac warmth underpins the fruit.
-
Palate: Silky texture with pronounced ripe pear flavour, leading into light toffee and almond skin notes. The Cognac base shows through as gentle wood spice and mellow warmth, balancing the sweetness.
-
Finish: Medium length; the fresh pear flavour lingers with a hint of dry oak, mellow spice and a clean, lingering after-taste of fruit and warmth.
