The Foundation The Tabernacle Knight Commander is a special annual release from Foundation Cigar Company, created to honor a prestigious distinction awarded to company founder Nicholas Melillo by the Ethiopian Crown Council.
The cigar commemorates Melillo's appointment as Knight Commander of the Ethiopian Star of Honor, an order of knighthood originally established by Emperor Menelik II in 1889. This recognition celebrates dedication and service to Ethiopia, a country whose rich history and cultural heritage have long influenced the identity of Foundation Cigar Company.
The Knight Commander features a beautiful 6 3/4 x 52 Perfecto format, showcasing a rich Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper over a Mexican San Andrés binder and a carefully selected blend of Nicaraguan fillers from Estelí and Jalapa. The result is a full-strength cigar crafted for enthusiasts who appreciate bold, complex tobacco blends.
Beyond its craftsmanship, the Knight Commander carries a meaningful charitable mission. Foundation Cigar Company has pledged 100% of net wholesale proceeds from this release to The Royal Ethiopian Trust, supporting educational initiatives, entrepreneurship programs, and the preservation of Ethiopia's historical and cultural treasures.
Released annually in elegant 12-count boxes, the Tabernacle Knight Commander represents a unique combination of premium cigar craftsmanship, tradition, and philanthropy.
