Privada Storytelling
The Charter Oak Shade is Nick Melillo’s tribute to his roots—Connecticut soul in a golden wrapper. But don’t let the mellow presentation fool you. Under that smooth Ecuadorian Connecticut lies rich Nicaraguan earth, quietly pulsing with character. It’s approachable, yes. But it’s also precise, elegant, and anchored in respect for the working-class smokers who inspired it. In Privada, we respect cigars that don’t shout. This one speaks in full sentences, with warmth, balance, and quiet sophistication.
Flavor Journey
From the first draw, it’s buttered toast and vanilla cream. The retrohale brings gentle white pepper and cedar. A touch of dry hay gives the blend texture, while soft honey and almonds smooth the edges. In the middle, light earth and tea leaf come forward, offering gentle depth. It finishes clean with lingering sweet cream, toast, and soft spice. The whole experience is like golden hour in cigar form—easy, warm, and just complex enough to keep you grounded.
Why It Belongs in Privada
Because complexity doesn’t always need darkness. The Charter Oak Shade is a masterclass in restraint—crafted not to overwhelm, but to welcome. For Privada, it’s the kind of cigar that introduces new palates to quality without compromise, while still offering seasoned smokers a moment of peaceful reflection. It’s proof that elegance still has a place in the boutique world.
