Fire Department Coffee Irish Whiskey Infused Ground Coffee is a medium-roast, non-alcoholic blend infused with authentic Irish whiskey flavor notes for a smooth cup with toffee, butterscotch, and vanilla accents.
Designed and roasted in small batches in the USA by the veteran-owned Fire Department Coffee team, this 12 oz ground coffee combines classic medium-roast balance with a proprietary spirit-infusion method that leaves flavor without alcohol. The result aims to deliver a dessert-like sweetness and creamy mouthfeel that works well brewed drip-style, pour-over, or in a French press.
What flavor profile can I expect from this Irish whiskey–infused coffee?
This blend highlights warm dessert tones rather than overt roast bitterness. You’ll notice toffee and butterscotch top notes balanced by a soft vanilla finish, with medium roast body that supports rather than overpowers those flavors.
- Primary tasting notes: toffee, butterscotch, vanilla
- Roast level: medium—balanced acidity and body
- Finish: smooth, slightly sweet, low astringency
- Alcohol-free infusion retaining spirit aroma and flavor
How should I brew this ground coffee for the best results?
The blend performs well across common home methods; adjust grind and extraction time for your preferred strength. Use medium grind for drip machines or a slightly coarser setting for a French press to highlight sweetness and minimize bitterness.
- Drip machine: medium grind, standard water temperature (195–205°F)
- French press: coarse grind, 4–5 minute steep for fuller body
- Pour-over: medium-fine grind, controlled pour to clarify flavor
- Ratio suggestion: 1:15–1:17 coffee to water for balanced cup
Is this coffee alcoholic, and how is the whiskey flavor added?
The Irish whiskey essence in this coffee is non-alcoholic; Fire Department Coffee uses a proprietary spirit infusion process that imparts distilled whiskey flavor while removing alcohol. The technique emphasizes aromatic compounds so the cup carries whiskey character without fermentation or alcohol content.
- Non-alcoholic final product—safe for all consumers
- Flavor derived from spirit infusion, not added extracts or sugar
- Small-batch roasting preserves infused notes and bean integrity
- No preservatives, soy, or added sugar in the roast
