Named for the Latin word meaning "exquisite," FACUNDO Exquisito Premium Blended Rum takes its title from its delicate character. The blend calls back to Havana in its heyday, an era of music, fashion and nightlife that gave Americans a brief escape from Prohibition. Its smooth, sociable profile comes from a hand-selected blend of rums aged between seven and 23 years, bottled at 40% ABV in a 750 ml bottle.
Many of the medium- to full-bodied rums in the blend pass through activated charcoal filtration before they rest in oak barrels. After aging, the rum is finished in sherry casks, which round out the texture. The nose is definitive but finely balanced, with cinnamon, dates, dark berries and toasted oak. The palate is rich and mellow, showing raisins, apricots and baking spices, with a touch of butterscotch across a warm, lingering finish.
