Ernesto Perez-Carrillo has proven he has mastered the art of finding harmony between strength, body, size, and taste with a wide range of award-winning creations for over half a century. Perez-Carrillo has outdone himself with the exquisite EP Carrillo Pledge Apogee. This 93-rated stunner elevates the widely acclaimed Pledge series to another level of richness and complexity.
The EP Carrillo Pledge Apogee is a 6 ¼" x 58 addition to the Pledge line that beefs up the legendary blend's Nicaraguan filler tobaccos. An Ecuadorian binder and special Cuban-seed USA Connecticut Habano wrapper top it all to create an epic cigar-smoking adventure of an hour and a half or longer.
The EP Carrillo Pledge Apogee unleashes a beautifully structured torrent of taste underscored by rich pepper, leather, cedar, and earth notes. One by one, other flavors join the party, including hints of chocolate, cinnamon, citrus, herbal, licorice, and dried fruit. A creaminess flows throughout the full-bodied smoke, with deep waves of coffee flavor flooding the palate during a bold yet composed finale.
Perez-Carrillo's artful blending strikes a perfect balance between the Pledge blend and the Apogee's bulkier size. The result is a legendary smoke that consistently generates industry buzz while providing a wildly complex and rich experience that lovers of large ring gauges should find irresistible.
