Introducing Empress Orange – Skin Fermented White, a truly unique expression of Gewürztraminer from VQA Ontario. Crafted with tradition and innovation, this wine pays homage to Pelee Island Winery’s storied past—dating back to 1894 with “L’Empereur”—and looks boldly ahead. The Gewürztraminer grapes are macerated on their skins and seeds for 28 days before pressing, resulting in a radiant golden-orange hue and layered complexity. On the nose, expect alluring aromas of tropical fruit, allspice, and fresh rose petals. The palate follows with crisp lychee, floral notes, and subtle tannins, finishing dry, clean, and beautifully textured. “Empress” is more than a wine—it’s a conversation piece, perfect for those seeking something adventurous and elegantly offbeat.
You’ll notice complex aromatic notes of tropical fruit, allspice, and fresh rose petals on the nose, while crisp lychee and florals linger on the palate, finishing dry and clean with beautiful texture and subtle tannins.
