Located in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island BC, Emandare Vineyard sits on a unique south sloping hillside in the rain shadow of Mount Prevost overlooking Somenos Lake. These elements combined with our passion for stewarding this piece of land alongside nature gives us the ability to naturally craft terroir-driven wines with old world, low intervention techniques.
Emandare has two lines: Estate Wines are produced on a premium piece of land perfectly suited for grape growing. They are 100% estate grown, organically farmed, dry farmed and the vinification is allowed to take place naturally without commercial yeasts and other additives that dictate a recipe. This low intervention approach is what allows the transparency of each vintage to shine through the honest expression of each of these unique terroir-driven wines.
From The Valley Wines are made from locally grown Cowichan Valley grapes supplied from neighbouring vineyards. These are wines that give Emandare the opportunity to capture the playful and unpretentious values of the Cowischan Valley–the warmest agricultural land in Vancouver Island. Utilizing the same low intervention approach as on their Estate Wines, these wines will give you a delightfully honest expression from the valley.
