Origins & Production
-
Heritage: Named after Reverend Elijah Craig—legend has it he pioneered barrel-charring, earning him the nickname "Father of Bourbon"
-
Small-Batch Crafting: Blended from up to 200 hand-selected barrels of Heaven Hill’s classic mashbill (78% corn, 10% rye, 12% malted barley)
-
Proof & Aging: Bottled at 94 proof (47% ABV), matured gradually for 8–12 years in charred new American oak
The Elijah Craig Small Batch Bourbon has just won "Best Small Batch Bourbon" at the 2018 San Francisco World Spirits Competition!
"Deep color, medium-to-heavy feel. Strong, sweet fragrance with wood and spice tones. Butterscotch candy flavors, so strong I almost hear cellophane unwrapping, are echoed by some oak, caramel and vanilla. Smooth, not too much alcohol fire. Mellow, long finish with a touch of herbal and anise notes." Wine Enthusiast 95 Points
