El Cientelleo Tequila Reposado is an ultra-premium aged tequila produced at NOM 1649. It's made from 100% mature Blue Weber agave from Jalisco — slow-cooked in brick hornos, naturally fermented in open-air tanks, and double-distilled in copper pot stills. After distillation, the spirit rests in American white oak barrels until it reaches the depth and balance that defines this expression. Throughout, the agave remains the primary voice.
The nose is warm and layered: vanilla and cooked agave, a little warm spice, and a quiet touch of oak. On the palate, toasted oak and dried fruit build with white pepper and a natural sweetness over a full, rounded body. The oak has introduced warmth and depth — but it hasn't become the dominant note. That balance is the standard a serious Reposado is measured against. The texture is silky and substantial. The finish is long and warm, with gentle spice and lingering oak that resolves cleanly without bitterness.
For the buyer evaluating against other Reposados: this is not a spirit where the barrel has overwritten the agave. The production philosophy behind El Cientelleo — copper pot distillation, agave maturity prioritized from the start — means the Reposado rests on a base spirit of genuine quality. The oak adds to it rather than correcting it. That distinction separates collector-tier Reposados from the commercial norm. It's apparent in the glass.
