Duellum Día de Muertos Gin is a limited-edition artisanal craft spirit produced in small batches in Jalisco, Mexico. Triple distilled in copper pot stills using a grain neutral spirit base, this expression pays homage to the traditional Mexican holiday, Día de los Muertos. Its unique botanical bill highlights symbolic cultural ingredients, most notably cempasúchil (Mexican marigold petals), paired with local citrus peels, Mexican vanilla, warm allspice, and wild juniper. Unfiltered to retain its deep aromatic complexity, it delivers a floral, softly spiced, and distinctively regional botanical profile.
Food Pairing: Pan de muerto, mole negro, tamales, aged manchego cheese, roasted dark meats, and churros with chocolate.
Tasting Notes: Slight pale gold hue with a velvety, rich, and slightly oily mouthfeel.
Nose: Highly aromatic and fragrant up front, opening with sweet marigold petals and subtle orange blossom, followed by warm vanilla bean, bright citrus zest, and resinous pine juniper.
Palate: Soft, complex, and full-bodied on the palate, featuring earthy floral notes of cempasúchil, balancing into sweet baking spices, subtle clove, citrus oils, and crisp juniper needle.
Finish: Long, warm, and memorable with lingering notes of floral marigold, gentle pepper spice, and a soft vanilla trail.
Serve: Serve over ice topped with premium Indian or Mediterranean tonic water, garnished with an edible orange marigold petal or a slice of fresh orange, or build into a Día de Muertos Paloma or Marigold Negroni.
