Celebrating craftsmanship, curiosity, and imagination, the Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin Year of the Horse Limited Edition is a remarkable collector’s release from The Shed Distillery in County Leitrim. Presented in a beautifully designed ceramic bottle, this limited edition expression captures the adventurous spirit that has made Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin one of Ireland’s most recognised and celebrated gins.
Inspired by the curious nature of creator PJ Rigney and the folklore surrounding the legendary creatures said to wander the countryside around Drumshanbo, this special release pays tribute to the whimsical world of the Drumshanbo Jackalope – a mythical creature believed to be part hare and part antelope.
Beneath the eye-catching ceramic exterior lies the original award-winning Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin. Distilled using an intriguing combination of oriental botanicals and fresh citrus fruits, the spirit is centred around the distinctive influence of gunpowder tea, which lends its name and unique character to the gin.
The result is an exceptionally smooth and refreshing Irish gin, bursting with bright citrus notes, subtle spice, and delicate botanical complexity. Its balanced profile makes it equally enjoyable in a classic G&T, a refreshing gin cocktail, or simply served over ice with a premium tonic and fresh grapefruit garnish.
Whether purchased as a collector’s piece, a memorable gift, or to enjoy one of Ireland’s most distinctive gins, the Year of the Horse Limited Edition is a standout addition to any gin collection.
