91 points, Cigar Aficionado
The Drew Estate Undercrown Shade Gordito is an exceptionally luxurious, large-gauge vitola engineered to showcase the creamy Undercrown Shade blend in its coolest-burning and most aromatic format. By expanding the ring gauge to a commanding 60, this stocky Gordito allows the carefully aged tobaccos to burn slowly, releasing a voluminous, velvet-soft stream of smoke that thoroughly coats the palate with exquisite depth.
The structural and tobacco specifications of this exact vitola are designed to ensure an incredibly smooth, slow, and perfectly even burn. Cloaked in a flawless, golden-hued Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper, the cigar is bound with a rich Ecuadorian Sumatra leaf and packed with a complex filler blend of Dominican Criollo '98 alongside Nicaraguan Corojo and Criollo long-fillers. This classic 6-inch by 60 ring gauge format guarantees a highly consistent, cool-burning delivery of nuanced flavours from the first light to the final draw.
