Metallica frontman and cigar lover James Hetfield teams up with cigar hit-makers Drew Estate to create the Blackened M81. The cigars follow on the heels of Metallica’s Blackened whiskey, a partnership that began with distilling legend Dave Pickerell and now is fronted by master distiller Rob Dietrich. The whiskey uses low-frequency sound waves to energize whiskey barrel aging to create intense flavors. Hetfield and company keep that innovative momentum going with the Blackened M81 Toro.
The Blackened M81 Toro cranks up the volume with a filler blend consisting of bold Nicaraguan leaves and Pennsylvanian Broadleaf “Green River One Sucker” tobacco. The grand smoke is completed with a Connecticut Broadleaf binder leaf and a compelling Mexican San Andres wrapper leaf.
The Blackened M81 Toro’s alluring 6” x 52 size is ideal for the blend’s powerful body and taste. Rich yet balanced and complex, the full-flavored experience features peppery and chocolaty riffs. Espresso, nut, wood, and baking spice notes provide harmony, while earthy undertones ring it to a most joyously loud finale.
The Blackened M81 Toro by Drew Estate is a fabulously entertaining Maduro-lover’s dream that finds harmony between innovation, quality, passion, and a pure rock and roll attitude. Pair this headbanging-delicious smoke with whiskey and enjoy the ride.
