Don Francisco's Organico Espresso Capsules are dark roast, 100% Arabica aluminum pods that deliver a bold, caramel-noted espresso compatible with Nespresso Original Line machines.
These Organico dark roast capsules come in a 40-count box (four sleeves of 10 recyclable aluminum capsules) and are crafted from 100% Arabica beans, roasted and sealed in the USA to lock in aroma and flavor. Designed for convenience, each capsule works with Nespresso Original Line brewers (not Vertuo) and pairs bold Cuban-style intensity with smooth caramel highlights. Don Francisco's family legacy spans generations, and the capsules are recyclable through a TerraCycle program to help reduce waste from single-use pods.
How intense is the flavor and what tasting notes should I expect?
This dark roast registers around intensity level 7, offering a muscular base with roast-forward character balanced by sweet caramel nuances. It delivers a traditional espresso profile with a full body and pleasant lingering finish.
- Roast: dark, with pronounced roasting aromas.
- Beans: 100% Arabica for cleaner acidity and richer aromatics.
- Tasting notes: bold cocoa and caramel sweetness under a toasted backbone.
- Intensity: medium-high (approximate intensity 7) for strong espresso shots.
Will these pods work with my machine and how should I brew them?
The capsules are made for Nespresso Original Line machines and brew consistently as single-serve aluminum pods; they are not compatible with Nespresso Vertuo machines. For a classic espresso, use the standard 1.35 oz (40 ml) shot setting and adjust the volume for stronger or milder flavor.
- Compatibility: Nespresso Original Line only — not Vertuo.
- Suggested shot: 40 ml (1.35 oz) for balanced extraction.
- Tip: Clean your machine regularly for best crema and flavor clarity.
- Storage: keep capsules cool and dry to preserve freshness.
How are these capsules packaged and how can I recycle them?
Each box includes 40 aluminum capsules, grouped in sleeves of 10 to maintain freshness and make portioning easy. Aluminum protects coffee from oxygen and light, and Don Francisco's partners with TerraCycle so used capsules can be recycled rather than discarded with household trash.
- Pack size: 40 capsules per box (4 sleeves of 10).
- Material: recyclable aluminum capsules to preserve flavor.
- Recycling: collect and send used pods through TerraCycle program.
- Origin: roasted and packed in the USA using family-developed processes.
How does this fit into recipes or daily routines?
These espresso pods are versatile for straight shots, milk-based drinks, or coffee desserts where robust flavor is needed. The dark roast structure stands up to milk and syrup, providing a reliable espresso base for lattes, cortados, affogatos, and baking applications.
- Milk drinks: maintains flavor when mixed with steamed milk.
- Cold and iced: concentrated shots for iced lattes and cold brews.
- Cooking: use in syrups, tiramisu, or espresso-flavored desserts.
- Quick mornings: consistent single-serve brewing for reliable results.
