Don Abraham Organic Blanco is certified organic and made from 100% blue Weber agave. The agave grows in the Amatitán valley of Jalisco, Mexico. Growers pick only fully mature plants from their fields, and all of it comes from a single estate.
The spirit is made at NOM 1480, home of Tequila Las Americas. Brick ovens slowly cook the agave, and a roller mill presses out the juice. It ferments in steel tanks and is then distilled twice. Nothing is aged, so it goes into the bottle soon after distillation.
That keeps the flavor close to the plant. On the nose you'll find cooked agave, citrus and a little earth, with soft herbal notes. The palate stays agave-forward, with black pepper, a squeeze of citrus and earthy tones. It closes warm and peppery, with a touch of sweetness.
Reviewers like how clean and easy it is to sip. It also picked up a Gold Medal at the Agave Spirits Challenge in 2008.
Try it neat or over ice to taste the agave. It's also a great base for a fresh Margarita or a simple tequila and soda with lime. Pair it with ceviche, grilled fish tacos or citrus salads. If you want an honest organic tequila for everyday pours, this one fits right in.
