Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru 'Clos Saint Jean' 2024 is an exquisitely structured and vibrant white Burgundy produced from Chardonnay vines in one of Chassagne-Montrachet's most historically esteemed Premier Cru climats. Situated high on the slope with shallow, limestone-rich soils, 'Clos Saint-Jean' produces wines prized for their intense aromatic profile and refined mineral elegance. Vinified traditionally with native yeasts and aged in French oak barrels (approximately 30% new), this cuvée opens with inviting aromas of white peach, crisp green apple, citrus blossom, toasted almond, and crushed chalk. On the palate, it delivers a silken texture, dynamic energy, and impressive concentration balanced by bright acidity and a long, stony finish.
Food Pairing: Pairs superbly with butter-poached lobster, pan-seared sea scallops, roasted sea bass, creamy poultry dishes, or aged Comté cheese.
