Introduction:
Dirty Laundry Vineyard Kay's Syrah is a rich and bold wine crafted from award-winning Syrah fruit sourced from Oliver, BC. This wine features complex aromas and flavors, with a beautifully structured tannin profile and a mouthwatering acidity that leads to a well-rounded finish.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Violet, cracked black pepper, blackberry, and dark cherry.
Palate: Flavors of cedar, vanilla, ripe plum, and black cherry, complemented by a finish with hints of all-spice and cracked black pepper.
Finish: Medium to full tannin structure, with a full mouthfeel and a vibrant acidic backbone.
Winemaker Notes:
Sourced from Oliver, BC, this Syrah is co-fermented with 5% Viognier skins, a technique inspired by the Rhone Valley in France. The co-fermentation helps enhance the flavors and characteristics of the Syrah grape. The wine undergoes careful cap management and malolactic fermentation before being aged in French and American oak for 18 months. The resulting wine is full of flavors like raspberry and white pepper.
Food Pairings:
Pairs excellently with hearty main courses such as braised beef short ribs, roasted leg of lamb, or grilled wild game. Roasted squash or marinated Portobello mushrooms also complement this wine. For cheese pairings, try smoked gouda or sharp aged cheddar.
