The De'Longhi La Specialista Arte Evo (EC9250M) is a compact, barista-style espresso machine that keeps the parts of the process worth controlling in your hands — grind, dose, tamp, temperature and milk — while quietly handling the parts that only cause frustration. It's the machine for someone who wants to dial in a shot properly without giving up half a countertop to do it.
Why it stands out
- Cold Extraction Technology: Genuine cold brew in under five minutes. Rather than steeping overnight, the Arte Evo pushes cold water through the puck under carefully regulated pressure and flow, pulling out the sweetness and body of a long cold steep without the wait or the dilution.
- Integrated conical burr grinder: 15 grind settings covering espresso through cold brew, with a bean hopper and a grind-on-demand dose straight into the portafilter. Fresh grounds every shot, no second appliance on the bench.
- Active Temperature Control: Three selectable brew temperature profiles let you match infusion temperature to the roast — cooler for a light, acidic single origin, hotter for a dark, chocolatey blend — and the thermoblock holds it steady shot to shot.
- 15-bar Italian pump with pre-infusion: A low-pressure pre-infusion wets the puck evenly before the pump steps up to the 9 bars that actually matter for extraction. The result is fewer channelled, sour shots and a more even, repeatable pour.
- Dosing and tamping guide: The portafilter locks into a built-in cradle for grinding, then into the tamping station for a level, consistent press. It removes the single biggest source of shot-to-shot inconsistency for a newer home barista.
- Manual steam wand: A proper hands-on wand with enough steam power to build glossy microfoam — the kind you can actually pour latte art with, not just aerated hot milk.
- Three one-touch recipes: Espresso, Americano and Cold Brew selectable from the front dial, plus hot water on demand for tea and Americanos.
In the box
The Arte Evo ships with a barista kit — metal tamper, tamping mat and dosing guide — so nothing extra is needed to start pulling shots on day one.
Who it's for
The Arte Evo suits the home coffee drinker upgrading from a pod machine or an entry-level pump espresso maker who wants real control over extraction, plus anyone who drinks cold brew often enough to be tired of planning it 12 hours ahead. Its compact footprint and integrated grinder make it a strong fit for smaller kitchens where a separate grinder simply won't fit.
Care and maintenance
Detachable, dishwasher-safe parts and a removable drip tray keep daily cleanup quick, and the water level indicator and removable 1.6 L reservoir make refills straightforward.
