Introduction
DeLille Cellars D2 (Columbia Valley Red Wine) is a Bordeaux-style blend led by Merlot, showcasing the depth and elegance of Washington viticulture. Sourced from multiple premier vineyards across the Columbia Valley, D2 is crafted with finesse and structure, making it both rich now and age-worthy.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Aromas of black cherry, cassis, wild strawberry, and mocha, underpinned by hints of graphite, cedar, and baking spice.
Palate: Supple yet structured, the wine exhibits juicy red and dark fruit—plum, black currant, and cherry—woven with notes of cocoa, dried sage, and warm oak. Silky tannins give it a lush texture, while refreshing acidity lifts the flavors.
Finish: Elegant and persistent, with lingering espresso, dark fruit, and polished oak notes that echo its complexity.
Pairings
Pairs beautifully with grilled lamb chops, braised short ribs, mushroom risotto, aged Gouda, or truffle-enhanced dishes.
