Dallmayr Decaffeinated Ground Coffee (17.6 oz) is a vacuum-packed, full-aroma ground Arabica blend that delivers classic filter-brewed coffee flavor without the caffeine.
Crafted from fine highland Arabica beans and roasted using Dallmayr's full-aroma process, this decaffeinated coffee is designed for filter machines and manual pour-over brewing. The beans are carefully decaffeinated and refined to reduce bitterness while preserving the balanced, rounded taste Dallmayr is known for. Packaged in a 500 g vacuum-sealed bag, it keeps the aroma fresh from Europe to your cup.
How is the caffeine removed while keeping the flavor?
Dallmayr decaffeinated beans undergo a refined decaffeination step before roasting to preserve the natural flavor compounds. The procedure minimizes harsh or bitter notes, then the beans receive the same full-aroma roast as regular Dallmayr lines to deliver a smooth profile.
- Fine highland Arabica beans selected for flavor retention
- Special decaffeination process that targets caffeine, not taste
- Full-aroma roasting applied after decaffeination
- Vacuum packaging to lock in aroma until opening
What’s the best way to brew this coffee for optimal taste?
This ground coffee is formulated for traditional filter brewing — in automatic machines or manual pour-overs. Use 6–8 grams of coffee per cup and pour hot water between 198°F and 203°F to avoid extracting bitter notes; avoid boiling water.
- Recommended dose: 6–8 g coffee per cup (one level 7 g scoop common)
- Water temperature: 198°F–203°F (just off boil)
- Brew time for manual filters: up to eight minutes depending on grind and method
- Store opened coffee in an airtight container or thermos for short-term freshness
How many cups can I expect from a 17.6 oz (500 g) bag?
A 500 g package yields many filter-cup servings depending on your measure. Using the recommended 6–8 g per cup, you can expect roughly 60–80 filter-style cups from a full bag, making it a practical size for daily drinkers.
- At 7 g per cup (common scoop): ~71 cups
- At 6 g per cup: ~83 cups
- At 8 g per cup: ~62 cups
- Vacuum pack preserves flavor until opened for many uses
Does decaffeinated mean completely caffeine-free?
No decaffeinated coffee is 100% caffeine-free, but Dallmayr entcoffeiniert is refined so a typical drinker would need many more cups to match caffeine in a regular cup. The decaffeination process significantly lowers caffeine while keeping aroma and taste.
- Substantially reduced caffeine content versus standard blends
- Designed to retain aroma and body of classic Dallmayr coffee
- Generous 500 g pack suited to daily low-caffeine routines
