Culmina Family Estate Winery's Cabernet Sauvignon originates from the Golden Mile Bench in British Columbia's Okanagan Valley, Canada. Founded by the Triggs family, Culmina is dedicated to crafting wines that authentically express the distinct terroir of their estate vineyards. The winery employs meticulous site selection and sustainable farming practices to produce wines of exceptional quality.
Wine Description
This a single-varietal wine sourced entirely from estate-grown grapes on Arise Bench. It underwent maturation for 16 months in French oak barrels, with a composition of 40% new and 60% one-to-two-year-old barrels. This wine presents classic aromas of cassis complemented by layered notes of sandalwood, cloves, bay leaf, and the distinctive Okanagan garrigue. On the palate, it offers rich dark fruit flavours intertwined with spicy black pepper and savoury wild herbs. The fine-grained tannins contribute to a complex and powerful finish.
Food Pairing
This Cabernet Sauvignon pairs excellently with buckwheat crêpes stuffed with sautéed wild mushrooms and leeks. The earthy flavours of the mushrooms and the savoury notes of the leeks harmonize with the wine's rich fruit profile and herbaceous spice, enhancing its depth and character.
