Cruzan Black Strap Rum is a dark and robust rum produced by the Cruzan Rum Distillery, located in the U.S. Virgin Islands. This particular rum is known for its bold and distinctive flavor, which is achieved through a unique aging and blending process. Black Strap Rum gets its name from the dark, blackstrap molasses used in its production. It is aged for a significant period in oak barrels, allowing the molasses flavors to infuse deeply into the rum, giving it its characteristic dark color and intense taste. The rum offers rich and complex notes of molasses, caramel, and spices, with a hint of smokiness. Due to its robust flavor, Cruzan Black Strap Rum is often used in cocktails and mixed drinks where a more pronounced and bold rum profile is desired.
