Crastan 1870 Instant Organic Orzo is a roasted, caffeine-free barley drink that brews like instant coffee for a toasted, coffee-like cup without caffeine or added sugar.
Made in Italy from 100% organically grown Italian barley, this 125 g tin delivers a quick, soluble beverage commonly called orzo, orzo solubile, or barley coffee. It reproduces the dark color and roasted aroma of coffee while remaining naturally free of caffeine and sugars, making it a practical daily substitute for anyone looking to reduce stimulants or enjoy a warm, grain-based drink any time of day.
How do I prepare Crastan 1870 Instant Organic Orzo for the best flavor?
Preparation is straightforward: dissolve 2–3 teaspoons of the roasted instant barley into a cup and add hot water or warm milk. Stir until fully dissolved; sweeten if desired. For a cold variant, mix with chilled water or milk and stir or shake until smooth.
- Ratio: 2–3 teaspoons per 200–250 ml cup
- Hot option: pour boiling water, stir, serve immediately
- Milk option: use hot milk for a creamier texture
- Iced option: dissolve in a small amount of warm liquid first, then add ice
What are the core ingredients and nutritional highlights of this barley beverage?
This product contains only roasted, ground barley sourced from certified organic Italian crops—no added coffee, caffeine, or sugars. The flavor profile leans toward toasted grains with a naturally earthy, slightly sweet finish. It can complement varied diets since it lacks caffeine and added sweeteners.

Why choose Crastan 1870 Orzo over regular coffee or other substitutes?

The roasted barley provides a familiar aroma and body similar to coffee, while staying naturally low in processing and additives. Its instant form makes it faster and less messy than brewing whole-grain infusions.
