This exceptional wine is part of our Fine Wine Collection.
Winemaking Winemakers craft this blend with precision, marrying Petite Sirah and Cabernet Sauvignon to highlight the strengths of each varietal. Petite Sirah is harvested at peak phenolic ripeness for its inky color and plush texture, while Cabernet Sauvignon is picked slightly later to preserve acidity and structure. Each variety ferments separately—Petite Sirah for concentrated fruit expression, Cabernet with extended maceration to refine tannins—before blending through meticulous sensory trials. Gentle oak aging adds layers of nutmeg and toasted hazelnut, enhancing the wine’s depth and age-worthiness.
Vintage The 2023 vintage in Paso Robles delivered a rare combination of intensity and elegance, thanks to a long, temperate growing season. Late winter rains replenished the soils, setting the stage for even bud break and steady vine development through spring. A cooler-than-average summer preserved acidity and allowed for extended hang time, enhancing phenolic ripeness in both Petite Sirah and Cabernet Sauvignon. Harvested under ideal late-season warmth, the fruit from 2023 reflects a vintage defined by balance, structure, and exceptional varietal expression.
Pairing Logic This bold yet balanced blend is built for hearty fare, with its rich boysenberry and black cherry notes complemented by structured tannins and spice. Pair it with grilled red meats, braised short ribs, or mushroom-based dishes seasoned with rosemary, black pepper, or smoked paprika to highlight the wine’s depth and savory complexity. Roasted root vegetables or lentil stews with balsamic or hazelnut oil will echo its earthy warmth and elevate its finish.
