The Collective Arts Pilsner is a testament to the Hamilton brewery’s ability to master tradition just as well as they do experimental sours and IPAs. While their branding is defined by rotating gallery-style art on every can, the liquid inside this tallboy is a "back-to-basics" tribute to the German Pilsner style. It is designed to be the ultimate "fridge staple" clean, uncomplicated, and technically precise, providing a crisp counterpoint to their more aggressive hop-forward offerings.
Beer Description
This Pilsner pours a brilliant, crystal-clear straw-gold with a tight, frothy white head and high, streaming carbonation.
Aroma: It features a classic, noble hop-forward nose. Expect bright, herbal, and slightly floral scents (characteristic of Perle and Hallertau hops) layered over a delicate base of sweet, crackery pilsner malt.
Palate: On the tongue, it is light-bodied and exceptionally "snappy." It leads with a soft, bready malt sweetness that is quickly overtaken by a clean, dry bitterness. The mouthfeel is crisp and refreshing, with a sparkling effervescence that scrubs the palate and leaves a short, herbal finish.
Profile: It has a highly sessionable ABV of 4.9% and a moderate bitterness of approx. 30 IBU, hitting the traditional mark for a balanced German-style lager.
Technical Notes: Brewed with premium pilsner malt and traditional German hops. Following the strict traditions of the style, it undergoes a long, cold lagering process to ensure total clarity and a neutral yeast profile, allowing the quality of the water and grain to shine through without any distracting fruity esters.
