Class is in session! Clase Azul Ultra Tequila is made for true connoisseurs. It first ages in American whiskey casks. Then it moves into sherry casks (barrels that once held sherry wine). These include amontillado, oloroso and Pedro Ximénez casks. It comes in a ceramic decanter decorated with platinum, silver and 24-karat gold.
This is an extra añejo tequila, aged for five years in total. The aroma brings sherry, dried plum and ripe apricot, backed by cacao and plenty of oak. On the palate, you get dried plum, cacao and rich oak. The body is full. The finish is long and lingers with dried fruit.
Pair this premium tequila with cheeses, fruits and dark chocolate. If you can get your hands, or lips, on a taste, grab that chance. Sips like this come once in a blue moon, especially with a price tag like this one. Still, many fans feel the craft and artistry are well worth it.
