Citadelle is made by the team behind Cognac Ferrand at Château de Bonbonnet in the Cognac region of France. The production method is genuinely unusual: 19 botanicals are divided into groups and infused progressively — each for between one and four days depending on its aromatic profile. Some botanicals are robust enough to withstand longer maceration; others require gentler handling. After infusion, the spirit is distilled in small copper pot stills over an open flame using an unusually short, rapid heating cycle that preserves freshness and delicacy. The result is a gin that manages both complexity and finesse at 44% ABV.
