Skurnik Wines operates out of a bustling 9th-floor Manhattan office, and this exclusive single barrel rye celebrates their keenly honed palate. Chattanooga Whiskey crafted something fiercely distinctive when they formulated this malt-forward recipe. It bypasses the standard playbook. Instead of relying solely on raw grains, they harness a complex blend of pale, caramel, and chocolate malted rye. The resulting liquid possesses a striking density. You'll rarely encounter a malt whiskey balancing historic brewing methods with unapologetic Tennessee bravado so effortlessly.
Maturation happens in custom-toasted oak, unlocking wild permutations of flavor over four years of patient resting. The high-malt content practically leaps from the barrel with an unfiltered, uncut intensity. Every pour feels decidedly substantial. The distillery allows the liquid to dictate its timeline rather than rushing the precious yield. Their meticulous attemperated fermentation cycle draws out remarkably vibrant, jammy undertones that completely transform the traditional rye experience into a decadent adventure. It's an absolute powerhouse at cask strength!
