This accessible white wine originates from the Columbia Valley AVA in Washington State, USA. Chateau Ste. Michelle, established in 1934, is the oldest winery in Washington and has played a pivotal role in bringing European winemaking techniques to the Pacific Northwest. The winery's philosophy for its flagship Columbia Valley Chardonnay focuses on creating a "food-friendly" style by blending fruit from both cooler and warmer vineyard sites across the region to balance ripe fruit intensity with natural acidity.
Wine Description
The Chateau Ste. Michelle Chardonnay presents a pale gold colour with brilliant clarity. The sensory profile is fresh and soft, leading with juicy aromas of crisp green apple, citrus blossom, and pear, underpinned by subtle notes of vanilla and toasted oak. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied and vibrant, offering flavours of lemon zest and orchard fruit balanced by a creamy, buttery texture from sur lie aging. The finish is clean and persistent, with a delicate hint of sweet spice.
