Château La Nerthe, established in 1560, is one of the oldest estates in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, France. Spanning 227 acres, the vineyards surround the château and extend to the renowned La Crau plateau. The estate is certified organic, reflecting its commitment to sustainable viticulture.
Wine Description
It presents a deep ruby hue. On the nose, it offers aromas of blackberry, raspberry, wild strawberry, licorice, dried herbs, cloves, and hints of mint. The palate is full-bodied and concentrated, with lively acidity and velvety tannins, leading to a sapid finish. Aged for 12 months in French oak casks and barrels, this wine is expected to develop further complexity over the next decade.
Food Pairing
This wine pairs beautifully with roasted lamb, beef stew with 'grand veneur' sauce, or duck fillet. These pairings highlight the wine’s depth and character, creating an unforgettable dining experience.
