Introduction
This red wine originates from France, within the Bordeaux region, specifically the Saint Emilion subregion and the satellite appellation of Puisseguin Saint Emilion. Founded in 2009 by Olivia and Didier Le Calvez, the domain is the result of their passion for wine and their deep desire to transmit a family history. The château, named after their daughter Clarisse, operates with a profound pursuit of excellence and a commitment to working with the exceptional clay-limestone terroir.
Wine Description
This wine is a classic Bordeaux blend, primarily composed of Merlot and Cabernet Franc, sometimes with a touch of other varietals. Merlot contributes small red fruit notes and roundness to the wine, while Cabernet Franc provides structure and spiciness. The wine displays a deep, bright ruby colour with shining reflections. Aromas often include black cherries, plums, licorice, smoke, and flowers. On the palate, the wine is described as lush, supple, and rich in sweet, ripe, red fruits, supported by a nice roundness and great freshness. It has supple yet powerful tannins. The wine can be enjoyed upon release but also has excellent ageing potential, drinking well for up to eight to ten years depending on the vintage. Château Clarisse is certified organic, a commitment that began its conversion process in 2016 and achieved certification in 2019.
