Founded in 1972 by the Wagner family, Caymus Vineyards has become one of the most recognizable names in American Cabernet Sauvignon. For over 50 vintages, the winery has developed a signature style defined by intense color, plush fruit, velvety tannins, and immediate drinkability.
The 2023 Caymus Cabernet offers saturated color and aromas of ripe blackberry, cassis, cocoa powder, sweet spice, and vanilla. The palate is rich and full-bodied, showing layers of dark plum, black cherry, and chocolate-dusted berries. Soft, supple tannins create a silky texture, while the finish lingers with notes of mocha, baking spice, and warm, ripe fruit. Classic Caymus, plush, bold, and effortlessly drinkable.
Pairs well with Ribeye steak with herb butter, Short rib ragu or beef bourguignon, BBQ brisket or grilled lamb, Aged cheddar, Gouda, or Comté, and or Dark chocolate with sea salt.
94 Points - Natalie MacLean

It opens with ripe aromas of blackberry, cassis, black cherry and dark plum, wrapped in layers of cocoa, vanilla, espresso and warm baking spice.
