"An old school California rendition that doesn’t shy away from a little green pepper character - it’s all about enhancement of the fruit here. Taste the heritage!" - Rich Cook, The 2020 Critics Challenge: International Wine & Spirits Competition. Paso Robles has been garnering more attention from wine critics and wine lovers alike. Cartesian Cabernet receiving 93 points is an example of why this region, and our wine, earns the recognition as a premiere wine growing region. Paso Robles experiences similar microclimates as the nearby Napa Valley. Both regions' terroir allows the grape to develop structured tannins and fruit-forward body. Our approach to sourcing and winemaking embraces the duality of the knowledge and passion of craft. Winemaking is a journey, and our Cartesian Cabernet Sauvignon is all about how winemakers must tirelessly pursue quality. It takes deliberate moves and continuous dedication to make a great wine. Descartes is often regarded as the first thinker to emphasize the use of reason to develop the natural sciences, in this way we celebrate this Cartesian thinker.
