When it comes to cigar blending, the Corojo leaf is notoriously difficult to work with, so when the team at Camacho set out to create a cigar composed of nothing but Corojo tobacco it seemed quit a daunting task. Yet Camacho is the king of Corojo, so if anyone could do it, it was Camacho. And boy did they ever succeed!
The Camacho Corojo Gigante is a hefty 6 ½” x 54 beast jam-packed with lush Honduran-grown Corojo tobaccos. Three primings of Camacho’s Authentic Corojo tobacco make up the ample filler and are held by a Corojo binder. A fifth priming Authentic Corojo wrapper shrouds the Gigante to create a truly wonderful venture that will stretch nearly an hour and a half.
The big stick bombards the palate with rich wood, earth and spice flavors that run from start to finish. Some coffee notes and hints of sweetness pepper the smoke along the way that is medium in body, yet is as full as it gets in taste. Smooth and complex, the Corojo Gigante ends with an exuberance that lasts well beyond the last puff.
With immense flavor and a lively, yet well-managed character, the Camacho Corojo Gigante is a prolific smoke that deserves a spot in any cigar enthusiast’s humidor. Enjoy this big stick after a hearty meal and in the company of good friends.
