The Caldwell Long Live The Queen Queen’s Court brings one of the more distinctive wrapper leaves in premium cigars to a classic 5" x 52 Robusto. A reddish-brown Cameroon wrapper covers an Indonesian Sumatra binder and Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers, creating a cigar built more around aroma, nuance and balance than raw strength. Cameroon has a character all its own, and the compact Queen’s Court gives that wrapper a meaningful role in every draw.
The 52-ring Robusto strikes an excellent balance between the aromatic wrapper and the richer tobaccos underneath. Expect toasted cedar, roasted nuts and Cameroon’s characteristic sweet spice up front, followed by coffee, leather and dry cocoa. A touch of caramel-like sweetness softens the profile, while pepper and a subtle citrus quality provide enough contrast to keep the cigar lively. The result is medium in strength but decidedly full in flavor, with the kind of transitions that reward a slower smoking pace.
For anyone curious about Long Live The Queen, the Queen’s Court is an excellent place to begin. The traditional Robusto proportions showcase the Cameroon beautifully without asking for a long commitment, and there's enough complexity here to keep seasoned smokers interested. Put a few in the humidor—this is a wonderfully aromatic Cameroon Robusto that makes a strong case for why this increasingly uncommon wrapper remains so highly regarded.
