The Caldwell Long Live The Queen Maduro Queen's Charge gives the darker side of the Queen plenty of room to stretch out. At 6" x 60, it's the largest regular vitola in the Maduro line, pairing a rich Mexican San Andrés Maduro wrapper with an Indonesian Sumatra binder and aged fillers from the Dominican Republic and United States. The recipe was developed independently from the original Cameroon-wrapped Long Live the Queen, resulting in a cigar with considerably more weight and richness while retaining Caldwell's preference for balance over brute force.
The broad 60-ring format brings the filler tobaccos further into the foreground, giving Queen's Charge a deep core of earth, espresso and roasted tobacco beneath the dark sweetness of the San Andrés wrapper. Cedar, cocoa and warm spice develop along the way, with enough natural sweetness to keep the cigar rounded as the body builds. This is a substantial Maduro, but its appeal is as much about texture and depth as strength.
For the Maduro smoker who favors a larger ring gauge, Queen's Charge is the natural choice in the Long Live the Queen lineup. It's broad, rich and unhurried, with enough tobacco to make this a cigar worth settling in with. Give it the time a 6 x 60 deserves and Queen's Charge delivers the darker, fuller Queen in appropriately grand fashion.
