Caffe' Vergnano 1882 Italian Finely Ground Decaf Coffee is a 100% Arabica, finely ground decaffeinated blend in an 8.82 oz aroma-preserving tin that delivers rich, well-rounded coffee flavor suitable for moka and home espresso machines.
This blend brings together traditional Italian roasting and careful decaffeination to recreate the full body and flavor profile of classic espresso without the caffeine. Roasted in Italy using slow-roast methods, the coffee emphasizes notes of dried fruit, cocoa, and caramel while maintaining a clean, uniform crema. The finely ground texture is formulated for optimal extraction in moka pots and many home espresso machines, and the protective tin keeps the aroma and freshness sealed until you’re ready to brew.
What does this decaf coffee taste like?
The Caffe' Vergnano decaf blend aims for a rich, balanced cup with mid-level intensity (6/10). Expect a smooth body and layered flavor that leans on sweet dried fruit tones, warm cocoa, and a touch of caramel for a rounded finish.
- Flavor profile: dried fruit, cocoa, caramel
- Body: medium to full, smooth mouthfeel
- Intensity: 6 out of 10—noticeable but not overpowering
- Crema: clear and uniform for espresso-style shots
How is this decaffeinated and roasted?
Caffe' Vergnano uses methods that remove caffeine while preserving flavor compounds, combined with a deliberate slow-roast schedule typical of Italian craft roasting. The result is a decaf that retains complexity and depth rather than tasting flat.
- Bean type: 100% Arabica for sweeter, more nuanced notes
- Roast: Italian slow-roasting tradition for depth
- Decaffeination: flavor-focused process to keep aromatics
- Packaging: aroma-preserving tin to protect freshness
Which brewing methods work best with this ground coffee?
This product is finely ground to suit moka pots and many home espresso machines; it can also work in other pressure-based brewers that accept a fine grind. For best results, match dosage and tamping to your machine’s guidelines to achieve the intended crema and balance.
- Ideal: moka pots and home espresso machines
- Works with: certain pressurized portafilters and capsule adaptors
- Not recommended: paper-filter drip methods that require coarser grinds
- Tip: adjust dose and extraction time for preferred strength
How should I store and use the tin to keep it fresh?
The tin is designed to block air and light to preserve aroma and flavor longer than a standard bag. Keep the tin closed between uses and store it in a cool, dry place away from strong odors to maintain the coffee’s sensory profile.
- Seal the lid after each use to limit air exposure
- Store out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources
- Consume within recommended weeks of opening for peak aroma
- Do not refrigerate; humidity can affect grind and flavor
Who is this for? This decaffeinated Caffe' Vergnano blend is aimed at coffee lovers who want authentic Italian flavor without caffeine—ideal for those who enjoy moka or home espresso, evening drinkers avoiding caffeine, or anyone seeking a refined 100% Arabica decaf with clear tasting notes and a balanced crema. Its aroma-saving tin and finely ground texture also make it a convenient choice for households that brew espresso-style coffee regularly.
