Bushmills Private Reserve Plum Brandy Cask is a 10 year old Irish single malt bottled at 46% ABV in a 750 ml bottle. Made with 100% malted barley and triple-distilled, it is a small batch, non-chill filtered release drawn from the rare aged single malt stocks held at the Bushmills distillery, with a flavor profile distinct from the core range.
The whiskey spends a total of six years in carefully selected bourbon barrels and oloroso sherry casks, then finishes for a minimum of four years in plum brandy casks. The bourbon wood contributes rich hints of vanilla and oak, the sherry casks add dried fruits and spice, and the plum brandy casks bring a balanced sweetness that ties the profile together.
Warm chestnut in color, with aromas of plum, orange peel and vanilla. The palate shows vanilla sweetness, almond and hazelnut alongside ripe plum, cherry and rich milk chocolate, closing smooth and lingering as the fruit develops into nuttiness and gentle wood. Suggested neat.
