Buffalo Trace Kosher Rye Recipe is a certified kosher Kentucky straight bourbon made from the distillery's rye mash bill, aged seven years in dedicated kosher barrels and bottled at 94 proof.
Created in partnership with the Chicago Rabbinical Council (cRc), Buffalo Trace's Kosher Rye Recipe is part of a kosher whiskey program the distillery launched in 2010, with its first expressions released in 2020. It uses the same high-quality grains as Buffalo Trace's bourbon, aged seven years in kosher barrels, with special care taken so the whiskey never comes into contact with non-kosher spirits. The Rye Recipe expression is released once a year, after Passover. Buffalo Trace Distillery — the oldest continuously operating distillery in the United States — carries the legacies of master distillers including E.H. Taylor, Jr., George T. Stagg, and Albert B. Blanton on the same grounds it has occupied for over 200 years.
