Brook Hill isn't just a label; it is a whisper in the back of a dusty liquor store. Bottled by the Kulsveen family at Kentucky Bourbon Distillers long before the Willett pot stills fired up, this 11-Year Straight Rye is a relic of the "glut era." It represents a time when exceptional, hyper-aged rye barrels were quietly acquired and bottled without fanfare.
The provenance of the liquid is the stuff of message board legend. Is it old Medley? Is it Bernheim? The only certainty is the profile: dark, resinous, and completely unlike the young, grassy ryes flooding the market today. It possesses a heavy, oily weight derived from years of sitting in the lower ricks, absorbing every ounce of char the barrel could offer.
Bottled at a formidable cask strength, this spirit demands respect. It is a time capsule of Kentucky history, preserved under wax. You aren't just buying whiskey; you are securing a piece of the KBD legacy that will likely never exist again.
