This elegant sparkling wine originates from the high hills of Piedmont, specifically within the prestigious Alta Langa DOCG, the region's premier appellation for Metodo Classico (traditional method) wines. Produced by Agricola Brandini, a winery based in La Morra best known for their Barolo, this wine represents their dedication to organic farming and high-altitude viticulture. The grapes are sourced from vineyards situated at significant elevations (over 500 meters above sea level), where the cooler temperatures preserve the acidity and aromatic complexity essential for top-tier sparkling wines. Brandini is a staunch advocate for sustainable agriculture, and this wine is Certified Organic, reflecting a philosophy that emphasizes the health of the soil and the purity of the fruit without the use of systemic chemicals.
Wine Description
Brandini Alta Langa displays a brilliant straw-yellow colour with golden reflections, animated by a fine, persistent perlage (bubbles). The nose is intense and fragrant, offering the classic "champenoise" bouquet of bread crust, yeast, and dried fruit, lifted by fresh notes of white flowers, citrus peel, and a hint of almond. On the palate, the wine is dry, savory, and beautifully structured, showcasing the power of the Pinot Noir alongside the elegance of the Chardonnay. It features a creamy mousse and a vibrant acidity that drives a long, clean finish marked by saline minerality. This blend typically consists of 85% Pinot Noir and 15% Chardonnay. It undergoes secondary fermentation in the bottle and is aged on its lees (yeasts) for 30 to 36 months before disgorgement. The ABV is typically around 12.5%.
