Botanika Angelica Amaro Liqueur is an artisanal American amaro-style herbal liqueur that balances bright botanical complexity with firm bitter-herbal structure. Crafted with patience and precision, it offers a sophisticated yet approachable profile—rich enough to sip on its own yet versatile enough to elevate avant-garde cocktails.
Origins & Craftsmanship
Botanika Angelica Amaro is made by hand in small batches from a base of Chopin Rye Vodka infused with a carefully selected set of 16 locally sourced herbs and spices, each macerated separately for about eight weeks to extract nuanced aromatics and flavor. After blending, the spirit is married with artesian well water and rested in 50-year-old Polish oak vats for one year before bottling, resulting in a thoughtful production process that spans more than 18 months. It contains no artificial flavors or preservatives, reflecting a natural and traditional approach to herbal liqueur craft.
Botanika’s approach parallels classic amari—complex, bittersweet herbal liqueurs traditionally produced in Italy using roots, bark, spices, and aromatics—but this expression reflects a distinctly artisan American sensibility while still delivering a layered, bitter-herbal profile.
Tasting Profile
Appearance: Clear medium-amber-gold, signaling a herb-driven, sip-forward style with depth.
Nose: Herbal and bright with anise, cinnamon, thyme, rosemary, and hints of lavender, layered over rich soil and earthy botanicals. Aromatics are potent yet balanced, inviting exploration and complexity.
Palate: Dry and herbaceous, leading with gentian root bitterness, cinnamon and nutmeg warmth, and pronounced anise and black peppercorn spice. There’s an undercurrent of deep herbal complexity throughout, with subtle rosemary and lavender weaving through layers of spice and bitter root.
Finish: Long and lingering, with complex herbal echoes that intertwine spice and bitterness without becoming cloying—ideal for contemplative sipping or as a digestive component.
