Booker's 2024-01 "The Springfield Batch" 124.5 Proof Bourbon is a powerful, uncut, and unfiltered small-batch bourbon that kicks off the 2024 collection with impressive intensity and character. This limited release pays homage to Springfield, Kentucky, where the Beam family distilling legacy began over two centuries ago, honoring the deep roots and heritage that have shaped American bourbon tradition. Bottled at a robust 124.5 proof (62.25% ABV) straight from the barrel without chill filtration, this batch showcases bourbon in its purest, most unapologetic form. Hand-selected by the master distiller from premium warehouse locations and aged between six and eight years, The Springfield Batch delivers the bold, full-flavored experience that Booker Noe envisioned when he pioneered the small-batch bourbon category, making it a prized addition for collectors and enthusiasts who appreciate whiskey at full strength.
On the nose, this Springfield Batch reveals rich, concentrated aromas of caramel, toffee, charred oak, and vanilla with hints of dark chocolate, roasted nuts, and warm baking spices. The palate is bold and intensely flavorful, delivering powerful notes of brown sugar, butterscotch, oak char, and cinnamon with layers of leather, dried fruit, and black pepper that showcase the bourbon's cask strength authority. The finish is exceptionally long and warming with lingering oak tannins, sweet caramel, spice, and a robust heat that evolves beautifully on the palate. While this bourbon's high proof makes it a commanding neat sipper, adding a few drops of water or a single ice cube can help unlock additional complexity and tame the heat to reveal more nuanced flavors. Best enjoyed slowly and thoughtfully to appreciate its full depth and power. Whether you're a seasoned bourbon collector seeking limited releases with genuine character or an enthusiast ready to explore cask strength expressions, Booker's 2024-01 "The Springfield Batch" delivers uncompromising bourbon excellence that honors Kentucky's distilling heritage with every robust pour.
